Dumpster Tapes 5-Year Anniversary featuring...

Cafe Racer / Easy Habits / GIRL K / FAUX FURRS

Headlining this got dam classic Chicago Free Monday and supporting Dumpster Tapes 5-YEAR ANNIVERSARY (!!!) is Chicago band CAFE RACER made their live debut right here back in 2016. The psych/shoegaze rock n roll quintet are influenced by everything from BRIAN JONESTOWN MASSACRE to JESUS & MARY CHAIN. They sound more groovy and noisey with textured melody than their past aggressive garage punk history. Having just released a new single in October, Pretty Trash, CAFE RACER is ready to release their second coming album, Famous Dust through Maximum Pelt.

The catchy lo-fi rockers in EASY HABITS are at it again. The local 3-piece’s full length, Greetings From…, that they released in January of this year, is filled with Rolling Stones, Ramones and Jimi Hendrix inspired songs but their raw energy and authenticity is kept intact through the bands method of recording. Then there is more recently released song “Where Do We Go From Here” which takes more of a 60s pop love song route. However, they still manage to let their contemporaneity shine through so there’s a little bit for everyone from these cool Chicago dudes.

GIRL K is an up and coming solo indie artist from Chicago. Just this year, she self-released Sunflower Court, her debut album with great acclaim. Using a unique blend of somber yet inviting/warm undertones, the album creates an uplifting and delightful atmosphere that playfully balances the painfully honest heartbroken lyrics. Performing tonight with a full band, GIRL K is ready to send you off swooning and crooning.

Four minds floating in the vibro-continuum. Plucking petals from the quadrants of garage rock, neo-psychedelia, folk rock, and dream pop, FAUX FURRS molds a unique sonic dimension, striving to exert purity while crafting lyrical landscapes. FAUX FURRS' sophomore full length album 'Canopy' spans from grounded garage melodies to ethereal blends of psychedelically spaced out atmospheres. The gang is at the head of an expansive journey, surfing the waves of Voyager 2.
